Have you been posting your content to Pinterest, but haven’t been getting the results you’re hoping for? Well keep reading for the top three Pinterest marketing mistakes to avoid for businesses.
Don’t Save the Same Pin to the Same Board
How many times should you share a piece of content (a freebie, a blog post, a podcast, Youtube video, etc.) on Pinterest? I suggest creating at least 5 different pins per piece of content. We want to make sure we are changing the pin photo, text location, and colors used on each pin because Pinterest doesn’t like to see a pin reposted to the same board more than once every 30-60 days. You can use the Pinterest scheduling tool or Tailwind to set your popular pins on auto-pilot.
Not Optimizing Your Website for Pinterest Traffic
Keep website pop-ups to a minimum, have an opt-in form on every page to capture potential clients, and make sure your website is fast and responsive for both desktop and mobile use. If your website visitors from Pinterest leave before they read your blog post, watch your video, or listen to your podcast then those Pinterest clicks are not helping you!
Not Being Consistent
Pinterest likes consistency, it rewards pinners who are active. That means posting regularly, scrolling through the app, and interacting with other people’s pins. I suggest spending five to ten minutes on the app a few times a week outside of posting your content.
